Welcome to Cedar Class. This year our teacher is Miss McKenna and our teaching assistant is Mrs Shilson. We have made a brilliant start to Year Three and have already shown lots of enthusiasm towards our new learning. 

This term we are excited to learn about the Stone Age. During this topic we will find out about the houses Stone Age people built and the food they ate, as well as learning about Skara Brae, a real Stone Age relic. In our Science lessons, we are learning about different types of rocks and their uses, which will help also us in our History Unit. 

We are looking forward to learning how to write a setting description based on a short film, ‘The Dreamgiver’, in our English lessons, and writing an adapted version of the story to include our own dreams. This term, we will also be reading 'Into the Forest' by Anthony Browne and will complete descriptive pieces of writing about this text.  In Maths, we are challenging ourselves and are learning to recognise the place value of each digit in a three-digit number, to compare these numbers up to 1000 and to add and subtract these numbers mentally.  We are really excited to start our French lessons and cannot wait to tell our families the new words we learn.
