Hello again from Chestnut Class. We really enjoyed the Autumn Term. Highlights included Scooter Training, our trip to Hampton Library, the Great Fire of London workshop, making our own Puddling Lane and 1666 style houses, performing in the Year Two Carol Concert and Friendship Week. We are now in our second term of Year Two and have really been enjoying our learning! We are currently reading The Snail and the Whale and are thoroughly enjoying being authors, writing and illustrating our own story books. Soon, we will be performing our class assembly. It is called, ‘Let Your Light Shine’ and is about celebrating our talents and differences; we will tell the story of ‘Giraffes Can’t Dance’ and sing lots of songs! In our PATHS lessons, we have been learning about different feelings and how to use the ‘Three Steps to Calming Down’.
In maths, we are continuing to develop our ability in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Our Science topic this half term is ‘Health and Growth’ and we have learnt a lot about the different food groups by making our own Food Pyramids and Eatwell Plates. We have just begun learning about Florence Nightingale in our History lessons and look forward to handling and investigating replica resources from Florence’s time. We are also looking forward to a Florence Nightingale workshop.
School life continues to be very busy and enjoyable. We are Chestnut Class: we always take care of each other and really enjoy learning!
