Juniper Class
Welcome to Juniper Class’ Webpage! Our teacher is Ms. Baron, and our teaching assistant is Mrs. Guzner, who teaches us on Wednesday Afternoons.
In literacy we are exploring different authors’ work. We have just finished reading Ice Palace by Robert Swindells. Now we have moved on to Angus Rides the Goods Train by Alan Durant. We have used these wonderful stories to inspire us to create our own writing. So far we have written descriptions, diary entries and letters. We have focused on our presentation and the importance of using high quality adjectives and sentence openers.
In Numeracy we have developed our vocabulary for 2D and 3D shapes, as well as our number skills.
In Humanities, we are currently learning about the Anglo-Saxons and their way of life.
Science has been exciting! We have been learning about ‘Rocks and Soils’ and used this as the theme for our class assembly. We explored igneous rocks by creating an erupting volcano, using vinegar, baking soda, red food colouring and washing up liquid.
