We have made a brilliant start to our Reception year and settled in really well. We have been exploring our classroom and outdoor area, and carefully using them to discover and learn new things.
Our topic this term is ‘All About Me’ and we are getting know more about each other - our interests, families and our thoughts and feelings. This half term, we will be discussing the text called ‘Oh No George’ by Chris Haughton and we will be focussing on our school values. We have already begun to impress our teachers with our first value of politeness.
As we begin to build our Phonic knowledge, Mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills whilst learning together and looking after each other, our teachers have planned a fun filled busy term for us.
We will keep you updated about our amazing learning journey!
It was great to welcome the children to Holly Class and getting to know them more each day. They are beginning to learn the routines of the class and have settled really well making new friends and reuniting with old. They have a made some lovely self-portraits that are on display outside and handprints of all colours. We have a class full or artists!
Our focused text called ‘Oh No George!’ by Chris Haughton which has promoted our Buckingham Values on politeness and other good manners.
Our daily classroom learning will include writing our names, letters and numbers and taking part in our PATHS (Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies) that we help us to understand our feelings and friendships.
We are off on an amazing learning journey in Holly Class and promise to keep you updated on how we are doing each term!!
