It has been a very good start for Sequoia class and the children have settled in well. We have been busy during our first couple of weeks, producing pop art, Mondrian art and poems about our favourite places. These poems were inspired by the book Here We Are which we have now finished. Moving on, we have begun a unit of work that focuses on poetry. We will be studying The Listeners, by Walter de la Mare, The Lady of Shalott by Alfred Tennyson and many more interesting and exciting poems. In our new unit of study, we have begun learning about the Vikings and we have found out where they came from and the reasons why they landed upon our shores. In P.E we have begun, amongst other things, a challenging timetable of circuit training. The children take part in seven different fitness based activities, with the aim of improving their personal score each week. In PSHE and PATHS, we have spent time reflecting on what has happened over the last six months, whilst also looking at all we have to look forward to in the year ahead.
