Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural:
At Buckingham Primary School, we recognise that the children’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural development plays a significant role in their ability to learn and achieve. We therefore strive to provide all children with equal opportunities to explore and develop their own set of values and beliefs, spiritual awareness, high standards of personal behaviour, a positive and caring attitude towards others, an understanding of their own social and cultural traditions and an appreciation of the diverse cultures around them. We believe SMSC is the heart of what education is all about, as well as helping the children to grow and develop as unique individuals. SMSC is cross-curricular and closely linked PSHE, RE and British Values. It enhances each subject and underpins the schools motto of Believe, Persevere, and Succeed.
