Our School Day
The school day begins at 8.50 a.m. Children can come into school either through the gate in Buckingham Road or the back gate by Sainsbury’s car park from 8.40 a.m. when our staff are on duty.
Children go straight into their classes when they arrive at school, ready to start their learning.
You can help your child by making sure that they arrive at school punctually. It is very difficult and unsettling for children who are regularly late and missing valuable lesson time. Children that do arrive late to school must enter through the main entrance. It is very important for safety reasons that you accompany them and report to the school office. Registers are taken electronically and a late form must be completed for every late child.
At the end of the school day, children are collected from the playground at 3.20 p.m. Infant children are placed directly into the care of a known adult by school staff. Children in Year Six make their own way home providing parents have given their permission.
If you are going to be unavoidably late collecting your child, please could you let the school know. The children will then be reassured and asked to sit and wait safely in the school hall.

We encourage children to walk or scoot to school but please note that safety reasons electric scooters are not allowed onto the school grounds. We remind children not ride their bicycles and scooters once they have come through the gates; again this is for safety reasons.
We also offer Extended School provision with our Breakfast Club opening from 7.30 a.m. and our Afterschool Club which closes at 6.00 p.m. Please contact our school office for more information: info@buckingham.richmond.sch.uk
We also ask that great care be taken with parking, as the area outside the front entrance of the school can become very congested at the beginning and end of the school day. Please observe the road markings and please do not block the driveways of the houses close to school.
For safety reasons we ask that playground climbing frames are not used before or after school.
