Nursery and Reception Admissions
Welcome to Buckingham Primary School on behalf of the children and staff of our school. Buckingham Primary School is a friendly community school, situated on the edge of the London Borough of Richmond, serving the needs of the Hampton and Hanworth areas.
The school originally opened in 1976 and takes children from the age of three to eleven, when they then leave us to join secondary school. We are very proud of our school community and by being an all-through primary school we are able to develop and work with our families over a lengthy and rewarding period of time. Buckingham has increased in size and capacity from what was originally a one-form entry primary school to now having three forms of entry. As you will see we still have more than enough space for our children to be active and energetic. Our Nursery is on-site and is already familiar to many of you. All children from Nursery onwards participate fully in the life of our school, including special assemblies, community events and celebrations.
At Buckingham you will find a warm welcome from all our children. They are encouraged to develop good manners and respect for all individuals. We expect our children to develop into responsible citizens and to develop a life-long appetite for learning (whilst also having a lot of fun!). Academic attainment is very important to us here at Buckingham, and we look forward to sending our children on to secondary school as well-rounded individuals, able to work as a team and having a wide range of achievements. As our school motto says, we encourage our children to ‘Believe, Persevere and Succeed’. This has become deeply embedded in all our school life.
Choosing the right school for your child is an important decision. I hope you will be able to envisage your child succeeding in our positive learning community here at Buckingham.
We will be holding open sessions for parents/carers and children joining Reception in September 2025
